Develop your brand internationally before growing locally, the case study of French skincare brand Onérique.

Onérique is a French brand of skincare products. Its president, Glorimar Primera, is one of the entrepreneurs represented and selected for MY PITCH IS GOOD.

In this article and interview, she presents her strategy and vision for Onérique.

We take advantage of the setting of the prestigious Fourqueux Golf and Country Club for one of the most eagerly awaited events: the START-UP GOLF CHALLENGE of Paris.

Onérique : The philosophy

Onérique is a brand that stands out for its commitment to clean, indie and premium skincare.

Onérique embodies a philosophy in which daily self-care is seen as essential to feeling good and revealing inner and outer beauty.

The young start-up offers a range of face and body products designed in France.
It meets the specific needs of the skin, while adhering to high quality standards.

The philosophy is based on 4 principles:

Clean: Naturalness, environmental impact, safety and product origin are now central concerns.

Indie:Independent brands stand out for their creativity, originality and proximity to consumers.

Digital Native:UGC, influence and social commerce are key growth drivers.

Premium – a market polarised between a low-price offer and prestige skincare.

Ambitious international expansion

Originally from South America, Glorimar Primera first introduced Onérique to Latin America. She began in Uruguay with a local partner.

This first international foray was crowned with success, with representation in a number of department stores identical to Galeries Lafayette in Paris.

The Onérique brand can be found in outlets such as El Corte Inglès, Ankorstore and San Roque pharmacies.

Glorimar plans to expand Onérique’s presence in other countries in the region.

‘Our ambition is to develop our presence in Chile, Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay’, she said.

A brilliant and effective communication strategy!

From the outset, Onérique has not offered samples, but rather experiences. We tell you more.

We say NO! to samples

Environmental impact is the main reason why we’re against samples.

They generate a lot of waste, often in plastic or aluminium.

We think it’s irresponsible to produce complete packaging for just 2 ml of product. And only 9% of this packaging is recycled worldwide.

So these samples pollute and also increase the price of the products.

Contrary to popular belief, they are expensive to produce, and this cost is factored into the price of normal-size products.

In the end, it’s the loyal consumers who buy our products who bear the cost, not those who use the samples.

Finally, 2 ml of product is not enough to effectively evaluate a skincare product. A sample only gives a partial and ephemeral impression of the results.

By choosing not to produce samples, we are opting for responsible consumption.

We firmly believe that this approach is essential to protect our environment and offer our customers quality products with no hidden costs.

We prefer to offer a unique, premium and exclusive experience.

To compensate for the lack of traditional samples, Onérique offers ‘Beauty Moments by Onérique’.
